Ifydcat an admission of failure in discrediting Darwin ? It came from the US and we all know how much they hate losing (e.g. Neocons) by creating arguments that don’t follow from the premise ! (Remember Bush’s mate, arguing carbon trading) saying Africa was “underpolluted” ? I jest not.

If you follow the activity of the Discovery Institute, you’ll actually find that Intelligent Design is literally a term designed to filter the religion out of creationism as an excuse to teach it alongside evolution in classrooms.
So, actually, it’s more like religious nut jobs furthering themselves from an education on purpose and trying to make everyone else do the same.
Intelligent design is the brainchild of a creationist cult think tank and it is no longer relevant. They are now going with the even more subtle “teach the controversy” and “academic freedom” garbage.

ID arose solely to argue against the Theory of Evolution – it was never intended to advance scientific knowledge. In fact, just the opposite.

Woah there, don’t go tarring everybody in a country of 300 million with the same brush. The people who really push the creationist (oops, I mean, “intelligent design”) agenda are a small but vocal minotity, it has nothing at all to do with the national psyche.
And ID is, in itself a marketing campaign for christian creationism, I don’t think it was actually made up by an advertising agency, but that’s it’s purpose.
Darwin it the failure, not God.
Intelligent Design is proved, so far without challenge, by science and will win out in the end because it cannot be disproved.
The entire Bush administration is the closest thing to come to a proof of unintelligent design. How I wish it were an aberration. Unfortunately it is not.
I think intelligent design strives to answer the question that science is not equipped to answer, WHY. Science can only theorize up until the moments right after the big bang, because it is impossible to theorize before “no time”.

Pretty much! Evolution happened for sure, there is so much evidence for it! Some people seem to think you can’t believe in a God and evolution when most theists do believe in evolution!
What a Christian would call intelligent design is substantially different to what anyone else would.
