How do you measure a marketing campaigns success?

I’m doing a marketing assignment on Special K cereal and don’t know how to track its success. How do you measure things like ‘increase brand awearness’ ‘improved attitude’ etc.
Are sales figures easily attainable by the company to use as a measure?
Also should the marketing campaigns success be measured in intervals, like every month? (The campaign is running for 3 months)

Thanks

If you are the marketing company, sales figures should be readily available. Surveys done, before and afterwords. Tracking the success would be a monthly thing, not necessarily just the months of the campaign
