I would like to know more about making money by advertising on my own website.?

I have an idea for a website. I’m planning to start this website offering free info, hoping to use adsense to make money with advertising.
I’m confused as to what webhost/domain to purchase. There are so many offered paid and free. Which ones of them could incorporate adsense?
could adsense work on free websites?

If you are serious about earning from advertising, you need to invest a little in your own domain and web hosting. Some ad networks don’t accept free websites, in addition to the fact that free websites are harder to market (longer domain name) and provides extremely limited functionalities.

Plus, free sites are free because they already serve ads on your site. With Adsense for example, they’re ok with free but you need to be sure that the other ads served on your site do not mimic the look and feel of Adsense

There are several ways you can earn money from advertising:

    1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.

    2. Participate in contextual advertising networks. Contextual advertising are text ads delivered based on the content of the web page using an automated system.

    3. Sell advertising for your site directly. This is admittedly a more difficult route for a small business site wanting to earn advertising revenues. But hey, as they say: “no pain, no gain!”

    4. Affiliate Programs – you sell other people’s products that your audience may be interested in; and you get a certain commission after the desired action was done (whether a sale, a lead, subscription to email newsletter, or however this is defined)

Adsense works on any web site which allows the “Javascripts” to be embedded on the web page. The Javascripts, which is basically several lines of programming codes, needs to be part of the content of the page. So it’s like you need to the owner of page and have the editing right to change the content.

If the “Free Websites” is owned by you and allow you to embed the javascripts to be part of the content, then it should work. If you run a blog such as using Google’s blogger, they do allow you to embed the Javascripts into the site. Google will be able to distribute relevant ads according to your blog content. Relevance is important so the Google’s adsense must be part of the page (NOT just a framed page which is really another page) to be able recognize the content to determine the right content.

Adsense, like other “click sharing” ad, payout not that much per click. You really do need a LOT of pageview to get some money.

It sounds like you are not a technical person. Are you familiar with the stuff to setup your site with hosting company? It’s not that simple. You do need to learn a lot about making the web site. If you have a complex ideas, chances are that you need some kind of application to manage your content efficiently.

As to the “Paid” or “Free” hosting service, there is no free lunch. If you chose free hosting, chances are that you are going to provide content to someone else’s advertisement. That kind of ruins your original idea of posting adsense to make money. Or else the service level of the free hosting service provider will unlikely to be high. I rather pay for the service. They are not that expensive anyway. However, the knowledge required to build and maintain a site cost (or worth) thousands times more than the cost of the hosting.

What kind of site do you have?
