You know what communication is, I assume.

There is a difference between advertising (getting noticed) and marketing (selling).

Try to explain the methods used for creating a demand or a need for the service or product (marketing communications) versus trying to expose to the masses the availability of a service or product and what it means to them (advertising).

Where advertising will lead to sales due to the interest it promotes, marketing creates the illusion that the service or product is something a person wants, needs, or can’t live without.

Concentrate on how the marketer successfully communicates that message.

Marketing Communications are messages and related media used to communicate with a market.Traditionally, marketing communication practitioners focus on the creation and execution of printed marketing collateral; however, academic and professional research developed the practice to use strategic elements of branding and marketing in order to ensure consistency of message delivery throughout an organization.
